Notice of Transportation Sales and Use Tax | Todd County, MN

On September 9th, 2014 the Todd County Board of Commissioners approved, by County Board Resolution, the establishment of a Todd County Transportation Sales and Use Tax per Minnesota Statute 297A.993. This is a 1/2% sales tax that is solely dedicated for the construction and maintenance of Todd County highways and will become effective on January 1st, 2015. Residents and businesses in Todd County may owe a local use tax on purchases of goods and services made outside of Todd County. Taxpayers may get further information and forms necessary for calculating and paying the tax on the following Minnesota Department of Revenue Website:

2021 Todd County Construction Update #3

July 1st, 2021

Current Work Scheduled:

(Please note that this schedule of work can and will change, but it gives a general idea of timing for work on these projects.  The projects are listed in the anticipated order that work will progress.  We will periodically give updates as the work is completed and schedules change.)

CSAH 14 (from U.S. Hwy. 71 in Browerville to the East County Line):

  • The culvert pipe replacements have all been completed.
  • All reclaiming of the existing pavement work has been completed including patching of the surface with the first lift of new bituminous pavement at these locations.
  • The old pavement surface will be milled off prior to final paving, this milling work started July 1st and is anticipated to be completed by Friday, July 9th.
  • The final lift of wearing course pavement is scheduled to start on Monday, July 12th and be completed by Friday, July 16th.
  • The highway will continue to be closed to thru traffic with a detour in place when work is going on.  Traffic will be able to get through with flaggers directing traffic as needed during the milling and paving operation.
  • Upon completion of paving work, the roadway will be shouldered and striped.  No schedule available at this time.

CSAH 25 and CSAH 29 (Miscellaneous Culvert Replacements):

  • The culvert pipe replacements have been completed and paver patched.
  • The work remaining to be completed includes shouldering and striping.  No schedule available at this time.

CSAH 12 (from TH 287 in Long Prairie to TH 28 in Swanville):

  • Milling of the existing surface pavement was completed on July 1st.
  • All reclaiming of the existing pavement work has been completed and patching of the surface with the first lift of new bituminous pavement at these locations will be completed the week of July 12th.
  • The final lift of wearing course pavement is anticipated to start by Monday, July 19th and be completed by Friday, July 23rd.
  • The road will be open to traffic with flaggers during work to complete this mill and overlay resurfacing.
  • Upon completion of paving work, the roadway will be shouldered and striped.  No schedule available at this time.

CR 102 (between TH 28 and CSAH 13):

  • The culvert pipe replacement work has been completed.
  • All reclaiming of the existing pavement work has been completed including patching of the surface with the first lift of new bituminous pavement at the culvert replacement location.
  • Final bituminous overlay resurfacing of the pavement is anticipated to happen the last week of July. 
  • Upon completion of paving work, the roadway will be shouldered and striped.  No schedule available at this time.

CSAH 5 (from TH 27 to 6th Avenue North in Long Prairie):

  • No update at this time, work is still anticipated to start toward the end of July.
  • The road will be open to traffic with flaggers during work to complete a mill and overlay resurfacing of the pavement.
  • Upon completion of paving work, the roadway will striped.  No schedule available at this time.



PUBLIC NOTICE: COUNTY DITCH 41 – LSLID OUTLET PETITION – HEARING NOTIFICATION

PUBLIC NOTICE:

COUNTY DITCH 41 – LAKE SHAMINEAU LAKE IMPROVEMENT DISRICT (LSLID) OUTLET PETITION – HEARING NOTIFICATION

A Public Hearing will be held Tuesday June 29, 2021 at 7 pm. It will be held at the Todd County Expo Building located at the Todd County Fairgrounds, 203 9th St NE, Long Prairie, MN 56347.

This Public Hearing is regarding a Petition that has been submitted by the LSLID requesting to use County Ditch 41 as an outlet for their High-Water Outlet Project.

All interested landowners are welcome and encouraged to attend this Informational Meeting. Commissioners Becker, Erickson, Neumann, Kneisl, Kircher, Attorney Kurt Deter and CDI Nancy Uhlenkamp will be in attendance for Todd County.  The LSLID representatives, Attorney, and Engineer will be in attendance for the LSLID.

Landowners can join the meeting in the following ways.

1 – In person at the Todd County Expo Building, 203 9th St NE, Long Prairie, MN 56347.

2 – By phone/call-in.

3 – By Zoom (internet meeting).

If you would like to join the meeting via Zoom you will need a computer, internet, microphone, and speakers.  If you do not have a microphone built into your computer, you can call in as well to be able to hear and talk.

2021 TODD COUNTY CONSTRUCTION UPDATE #2 June 8th, 2021

(Please note that this schedule of work can and will change, but it gives a general idea of timing for work on these projects.  The projects are listed in the anticipated order that work will progress.  We will periodically give updates as the work is completed and schedules change.)

CSAH 14 (from U.S. Hwy. 71 in Browerville to the East County Line):

-Culvert pipe replacement work started the week of May 17th and will be finishing up this week by Friday, June 11th.

-Several segments of the roadway are planned to be reclaimed and bituminous paving completed to patch in the reclaimed segments including pipe replacement locations between June 16th and June 25th.

-The highway will continue to be closed to thru traffic with a detour in place while reclamation and initial paving work is completed.  Following completion of paver patching the reclaimed areas, we anticipate that road closure signs/barricades will be temporarily pulled to the side allowing thru traffic until the milling and final lift of paving work commences mid-July.

CSAH 25 and CSAH 29 (Miscellaneous Culvert Replacements):

-The culvert replacements described below are anticipated to start on Friday, June 11th with reclamation of the pavement and traffic control signs installed.  Excavation for the culvert replacements are planned during the week of June 14th to June 18th and progress in the order that they are described below:

  1. Two culvert pipes will be replaced on CSAH 29 between CSAH 30 and 270th Street.  A short-term road closure will be setup for these pipe replacements (no detour).
  • One culvert pipe will be replaced on CSAH 29 between TH 27 and CSAH 30.  A short-term road closure will be setup for this pipe replacement (no detour).
  • One culvert pipe will be replaced on CSAH 25 between CSAH 30 and CSAH 14.  A short-term road closure will be setup for this pipe replacement (no detour).

-Following completion of the culvert pipe replacements, the roadway will be paver patched.  Patching is anticipated to happen by the end of June.

CR 102 (between TH 28 and CSAH 13):

-One culvert pipe will be replaced on CR 102 between 305th Avenue and CSAH 13.  A short-term road closure will be setup for this pipe replacement (no detour).

-At this point it looks like culvert replacement work will happen during the week of June 21st to June 25th with paver patching completed by early July.

-Final bituminous overlay resurfacing of the pavement is anticipated to happen toward the end of July.

CSAH 5 (from TH 27 to 6th Avenue North in Long Prairie):

– No update at this time, work is still anticipated to start toward the end of July.

-The road will be open to traffic with flaggers during work to complete a mill and overlay resurfacing of the pavement.

CSAH 12 (from TH 287 in Long Prairie to TH 28 in Swanville):

-No update at this time, work is still anticipated to start here at the end of July and finish mid-August.

-The road will be open to traffic with flaggers during work to complete a mill and overlay resurfacing of the pavement.

Board of Commissioners June 1st, 2021 COVID‐19 Update

As of June 1st, 2021, Todd County had 2,848 lab confirmed COVID‐19 cases and 32 COVID‐related deaths. Many people with COVID‐19 are not tested, so the laboratory confirmed cases represent only a portion of the total number of people in Todd County who have had COVID‐19.

(Calculated as 10 days from their test date, May 22nd or earlier)

Gender‐ Male‐ 46.5% (1,324); Female‐ 52.9% (1,506); Unknown‐ 0.6% (18)

Age range‐ 2 months‐103 years, Case average age= 43.4

Total COVID tests performed in Todd County (as of 5/27/2021) = 31,219, 8.4% cumulative positivity rate. Positivity rate for May 9‐15, 2021 = 5.3% Todd County, 3.8% Statewide

TCHHHS COVID vaccine administration – 1,828 1st doses, 1,750 2nd doses= 3,578 total doses. 36.9% of Todd County residents (16+) have received at least one vaccine dose, 34.6% have completed vaccine series.

A Public Informational Meeting will be held Tuesday June 1, 2021 at 7 pm. It will be held at the Todd County Expo Building located at the Todd County Fairgrounds, 203 9th St NE, Long Prairie, MN 56347.
