Notice of Transportation Sales and Use Tax | Todd County, MN

On September 9th, 2014 the Todd County Board of Commissioners approved, by County Board Resolution, the establishment of a Todd County Transportation Sales and Use Tax per Minnesota Statute 297A.993. This is a 1/2% sales tax that is solely dedicated for the construction and maintenance of Todd County highways and will become effective on January 1st, 2015. Residents and businesses in Todd County may owe a local use tax on purchases of goods and services made outside of Todd County. Taxpayers may get further information and forms necessary for calculating and paying the tax on the following Minnesota Department of Revenue Website:

State Primary Election Results

The August 11, 2020 State Primary Election Results are accessible at the following link: Due to recent Minnesota Court Orders, the results will not be finalized until Thursday, August 13th, 2020 to allow for the additional receipt of absentee ballots via mail delivery. Small Business Relief Grant Program

On Tuesday, August 4, 2020, the Todd County Board of Commissioners
approved a Small Business Relief Grant Program funded through the CARES CRF
(Coronavirus Relief Fund). 

The grant program is for small businesses directly affected by the MN Governor’s Emergency Executive Orders 20-04 and 20-08 and required to temporarily close.  The program is designed to reimburse the costs of business interruption caused by the required closures.  An application form has been developed and posted on the Todd County website under the Business Resources page, located at   The application explains the required documentation and where to send the application.  The grants awarded will be up to $5,000 for eligible businesses who meet the criteria of the application and provide supporting documentation. 

The application period is from August 10, 2020 through August 28, 2020.  Applications will be reviewed, with grant awards approved on September 15th.  Applicants will be notified of their status after September 15th.    For questions regarding the grant program or grant application, please contact Rick Utech, Todd County Economic Development Corporation, at 320-732-2128 or by email at

Board of Commissioners August 4, 2020 COVID‐19 Update

As of August 3rd, 2020 Todd County had 420 lab confirmed COVID‐19 cases and 2 COVID‐related deaths. Many people with COVID‐19 are not tested, so the laboratory confirmed cases represent only a portion of the total number of people in Todd County who have had COVID‐19.
