Todd Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors Elections

PrintPrintEmailEmail

Two SWCD Supervisors seats will be open for filing between May 22nd and June 5th, 2012. Even though a resident must live in one of the supervisor districts open, the election is at large, meaning all voters in the county vote for all supervisors.

The nominating districts are similar to County Commissioner districts,  but not align exactly. The areas open are as follows:

Area II: Bartlett, Bertha, Burleene, Stowe Prairie, Wykeham and Eagle Valley Townships.

Area IV: Bruce, Birchdale, Grey Eagle, Round Prairie and Burnhamville Townships.

There is no primary for SWCD Supervisor Elections,  but the filing period falls in line with all other general elections filing dates.

Todd Soil and Water Conservation District is a sub-division of state government, SWCD boards meet monthly to oversee district operations and policy. Terms are for four years. Besides serving on the county wide board, there is a number of opportunities for board members to get involved with state and regional committees that involve policy creation for programs and laws regarding clean water and resource protection.

For more information regarding how to file for an elected board member position, residents should visit the Todd County's Auditor's Office.
