OUR MISSION:
| The Todd County Sheriff’s Office is committed to a professional level of Law Enforcement which will ensure the safety of our citizens, the prevention and investigation of criminal activity, and a cooperative working relationship with other Departments and Services. | |
| As Sheriff of Todd County, I feel that it is important to keep the Citizens of Todd County informed of the different concerns that our communities are faced with. I also feel that people are not aware of the actual working of the Office and the complexity of Law Enforcement in general. One of my goals as Sheriff is to keep the citizens informed of different challenges that we are facing, and to let the citizens know more about the structure and duties | ![]() |

This is a new system this year, implemented by DNR. Persons in Todd County can obtain burning permits from a Forestry office, their township fire warden, or they can purchase one over the internet for a $5.00 fee. The online permit is valid until the end of 2009.
An important aspect of the new system is that ALL PERMITTEES are required to call a tool-free number to activate their permits each day they burn (1.866.533.2876). If Forestry determines that permits are allowed for that day/evening, the caller will be given an activation number that they are to record on their burning permit.
If the permittee does not call to activate their permit or if Forestry has shut down permits due to high winds, etc., they will not have an activation number and their permit is not a valid burning permit. There is no longer a need for permittees to call the Sheriff's Office prior to burning. Questions should be directed to the Little Falls Forestry Office, 320.616.2450 ext 233 http://mini-me.dnr.state.mn.us/burning_permits.
