Environment & Land Resources

It is the responsibility of the Todd County Environment & Land Resource Management Office to ensure the development and maintenance of the Todd County zoning, individual septic treatment system, feedlot, subdivision, shoreland, gravel pit/mining and floodplain ordinances.

In addition, this department is also responsible for establishing an environmental educational and protection presence in the county, facilitate regulatory programs as adopted by the county, provide education and information to citizens on environmental issues, and accomplish protection of land, air and water for the health, safety and general welfare of  Todd County.

Grants Available for Septic System Updates

The Todd County ELRM office has grant money available for low-income residents to update their septic systems in the Long Prairie River Watershed.  To be eligible the applicant must reside within the watershed (click here for map), have a current failing or open-ended septic system and be able to meet the income guidelines.
